Back to work

Well, after Christmas in Silver Spring, getting married in Annapolis and having a celebration on arrival home to Limerick we both returned to work today exhausted. I'd say next weekend will be pretty non-eventful in this house.

But we had a fantastic Christmas with family - plenty of good food, drink and company and mountains of gifts....

The wedding went very smoothly and thanks Therese for all the great photos together with everything else she did for us.

And thanks to all our family and friends who joined us on Saturday in Limerick for the party. I hope they enjoyed themselves as much as we did.

I'll post wedding and party photos tomorrow....

Christmas Countdown

We have the pleasure of spending this Christmas in Silver Spring with the Madill Family. We are like children waiting for Santa counting down the days until we get on that plane (11 sleeps to go). As we will be away, there's no Christmas tree in our house this year - this is as much decorating as we will do:

But that's okay, as our neighbour's decorations compensate....

28 Days later (In Annapolis)

Only 28 days to go until We get married! Kay has her dress (What it looks like, I don't know!), Jamie has his dress (nice grey tartan number with matching sgian dubh), Kay finally has her shoes(AAAAAAARGH!)plus a reserve pair. The boys are trembling at the thought of wearing matching sailor suits, and we have managed to locate a leprechaun's outfit that should be a perfect fit for Rob, sorry, I meant Eamon!

So we're all looking forward to the best christmas, can't wait to see Eamon (and Therese and Rob naturally). We will miss the family back home but we will see them for the post wedding bash at the Clarion.

Can't bear this

Bear cub sat in the Ice and snow
Pondering his life
One worrisome thought kept cropping up
And caused particular strife

He went looking for his mother
To put his mind at ease
He wandered out his icy cave
Into the arctic breeze

He found his mum upon the ice
And told her of his woe
“Mum, am I a grizzly bear,
I’d really like to know”

“Of course you’re not a grizzly bear
You couldn’t be more wrong
You’re a Polar bear, just like me
Big and white and strong”

“Well, maybe I’m a panda,
Or a black bear from the east
With lustrous fur, and mighty arms
A truly magnificient beast”

“You are no Panda, or bear of black
Why don’t you believe what you’re told?”
“Because mum, if I’m a polar bear,
Why am I so f**in’ cold!”
