Back to Belgium

This weekend we took a trip to Brussels for the weekend to visit some old haunts. Unfortunately the one we really wanted to have a drink in is closed down - we don't know if it's temporary for refrubishment or permanent. The Celtica bar in Brussels is where we met and we were looking forward to going there for a few drinks and maybe catch some music but it wasn't to be. But there were plenty more establishments to quench the thirst. We also took a day trip to Antwerp which was beautiful as always. We got a good taste of beer and chocolate to keep us going for another while.

First of 2009

This weekend I got to taste my first perriwinkle of 2009. Fishy aroma, fresh and perfectly salted, great size. It was a good pick. The wine wasn't bad either.

Weekends

I love weekends. Especially those spent eating & drinking with family & friends. Last weekend we did a much overdue catch up with friends and even managed to get there before the children's bedtime which meant playtime for Jamie. Jamie is that someone you don't want playing with your children when you want to get them chilled out for bedtime....
