Thursday night and the weekend is almost here. After four 12hour shifts tomorrow evening can't come quick enough. I sometimes think that Thursday is the best night of the week. You start to anticipate the weekend and what you might get up to. Myself and BH will definitely be having a quiet one here in Blarney after the last few weekends. Chill out tomorrow night with a bottle of wine and a few beers, have the switching off of the alarm ceremony, and a lie in on Sat.morning.
I guess I'll have to watch the Munster match on saturday. I think we'll watch it in a pub in town, there should be a great atmosphere (especially if Munster win!)

Holidays!
As I sit here looking out on a cold, grey, and extremely wet Sunday morning I cant help thinking of holidays. We are off to Tenerife two weeks from today YIPEE! What could be better than a week of rest and relaxation, sitting quietly by the crystal waters of the Ocean. reading your favourite book and sipping on an ice-cold beer? Unfortunately there are 12 of us going- 6 adults and 6 noisy kids- so forget the peace and quiet!
Come the summer we will be heading to Kilkee in Co.Clare as I have been doing for the last 4 Years. The better half (Now forever to be known as BH) has spent just about every summer of her life there. Its a great place to chill out, all the kids love it and its full of family and friends so is great for the "craic". However, being on the west coast of Ireland there are some obvious drawbacks . I'm now going to indulge in a little hobby of mine which I hope won't chase you away. I like to attempt a bit of poetry now and again, nothing too fancy and I definately won't be giving Rabbie Burns a run for his money but here goes:
Summer in Kilkee
From George’s head to the Pollock holes
The wind blows hard and the water rolls
People struggle up the strand
Raincoats on, umbrellas in hand
Hats fly off across the beach
Always blowing out of reach
Hardy swimmers brave the sea
As darkness falls at ten past three
Across the sky thunder crashes
Out over the bay lightning flashes
Torrential rain rips thru’ the air
Girls try in vain to save their hair
All run like mad in search of cover
A distraught babe wails for his mother
Beach now deserted, sad, forlorn
Windbreaks abandoned, tattered, torn
Is this some freak storm from o’er the sea?
No, its just summer in Kilkee!

Blogging
My better half seems to be obsessed with Blogs so I thought I'd find out what all the fuss is about. I must admit that at first I thought it bizarre that perfect strangers would be interested in reading about other perfect strangers normal lives. However, after a few "Blogsurfs" I am becoming more intrigued though feeling a little bit voyeuristic.
The next logical step was to create my/our own blog. Hope someone out there may enjoy a little peek now and again.
